“A boy is hospitalized with a broken nose and will have to be operated on because he was hit by a tear gas canister.” So said Bianca, a university student during the press conference called by the activists who demonstrated yesterday in Turin against the G7. A procession which resulted in disturbances with the police, when the demonstrators tried, for two hours, from 7pm to 9pm, to violate the police blocks to reach Piazza Carlo Emanuele II and the hotel area where the G7 delegations are staying .
“About ten of the injured among us – says Bianca – many are minors. The police violently prevented us from expressing our dissent. It wasn’t just Askatasuna in the square. In this city, every time someone protests, they tense up to say that it is behind the direction of the Askatasuna social center. Yesterday we were mainly students”, continues Bianca.
