IVREA. She was the only candidate and, as expected, the plenum of the CSM appointed her chief prosecutor of Ivrea. For Gabriella Viglione, currently deputy attorney in Cuneo, however, this is a return.

For nine months between 2012 and 2013, before the appointment of Giuseppe Ferrando, she had been the “regent” of the Ivrea executive office. The same role now covered by the deputy prosecutor Valentina Bossi, who with the arrival of a new boss will be able to catch her breath and return to devote herself full-time to the activity of prosecutor.

The Ivrea prosecutor’s offices have never seen so many magistrates: the organic plant had already been raised under the prosecutor Ferrando to 9 substitutes plus the boss. Now it is covered for two thirds: there are six substitutes – who in 2021 saw as many as 21,000 files fall on their desks – plus the boss. If the two recently banned places were to find interested parties, they could go up to eight plus the leader, leaving only one square uncovered.

The numbers, however, still remain dramatic from the point of view of the administrative staff and the judicial police, which have not been adapted to the organic plant of the magistrates. Numbers that the same attorney general of Turin Francesco Saluzzo, defined as “illegal” during the day of farewell to Ferrando which was held at the Gramsci high school.

The other parish in via Pavese, however, the court, is now in danger of finding itself in difficulty. For the beginning of March she will leave the president of the penal Elena Stoppini, directed to the same role in Pavia, where she was proposed by the fifth commission to the plenum (she too is in the race alone). His post has already been banned, but it will be months before a new president is appointed.

An absence, that of the judge of the Olivetti trial, which will certainly weigh on the amount of proceedings that the president was able to complete every year. And that is added to that of judge Anna Mascolo, who has been transferred to Turin since September. The judges Stefania Cugge, Antonella Pelliccia and Antonio Borretta will remain under the criminal section, plus the magistrates Marianna Tiseo, Ombretta Vanini and Fabio Rabagliati. In some colleges, if one of the three judges is incompatible, the president Bevilacqua must also be employed.
