The German Rico Bogen won the 35th Triathlon on Lake Caldaro with a record time of 1h51’10”, fully honoring the world title won last season. A race worth remembering, thanks also to the clement weather, which has no history in the men’s race with Bogen coming out second in the swimming section and then running away. After 40 km on the bike and 10 km running around Lake Caldaro, with a good recovery, Thomas Previtali from Monza placed second ahead of the Austrian Steger abysmal by over 3 minutes.
In the women’s category, Alice Bagarello from Vicenza decided the race on the bike, going on to win ahead of the Sicilian Nicoletta Santonocito and Chiara Cavalli from Parma. Over four hundred athletes at the start, to greet the president of the committee and of the triathlon section Werner Maier who is now leaving and moving on to preside over the KSV, the Caldaro sports club.
