In 2007 he founded the monthly, which in 2017 became a well-known and appreciated online newspaper

Gianfranco Vergani, director of the Nuovo Terraglio, died. He had spent a month in the hospital, first hit by Covid, then negative but with important aftermath.

Vergani, born in 1936, has reinvented himself many times in his life: he attended the faculty of legal disciplines at the La Sapienza University of Rome and then continued his studies in Ferrara with the degree course in Law. He was a commodity expert in Maritime Damages. Until 1980 he was Provincial Secretary of the UIM, the year in which he entered as an effective member of the national organization. In June 1976 he was named Cavaliere della Repubblica by Aldo Moro. In 1964 he was an official in the Legal Office of the Adriatic Navigation Company in Venice.

But his real passion is journalism. He writes for the main local newspapers, until in 2007 he founded and directed the monthly Il Nuovo Terraglio, which in 2017 became the online newspaper.

Roman by birth, he had lived in Mestre for many years. He was currently hospitalized at the Dolo hospital. The funeral ceremony will take place in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in Mogliano Veneto, on Friday 4 March at 10.30.

“Today we all want to greet him with a thought, which is neither a farewell nor a goodbye. Because these pages have perfumed, perfume and will continue to smell of Gianfranco, in every word that we will write from now on. Hello dear friend, continue to direct us from Heaven ”, is the farewell note of the Nuovo Terraglio to its director.
