Gianni Giuliano suddenly passed away in the evening, he was 72 years old and one of the most well-known long-time politicians and administrators of the Riviera. According to an initial reconstruction, Giuliano, with Sanremo roots, was in his home in Imperia when he was seized by an illness, probably a cerebral hemorrhage. He was transported to the emergency room of the hospital in the capital, but now there was nothing more to be done.
Gianni Giuliano had begun his long political career in the late ’70s in the Christian Democrats and had been Sanremo tourism councilor. After a long period of absence from the political scene, he was back as a protagonist at the beginning of the 2000s, becoming president of the Province and then at the top of Autofiori. He currently held the position of president of Spu, the company that manages the University campus of Imperia.
