Gkn, agreement with Mise on industrial reconversion

by admin

The framework agreement relating to the path for the industrial conversion of the Campi Bisenzio former Gkn plant, now Qf Spa of the entrepreneur Francesco Borgomeo, was signed to the Ministry of Economic Development. The agreement – reads a note from the Mise – reached between the company and the trade unions provides for a shared reindustrialization process, aimed at relaunching the production site and guaranteeing employment protection. During the period necessary to identify possible investors, all the tools available to support workers will be activated, including those to encourage professional retraining.

The Mise, represented at the meeting by the coordinator of the business crisis structure Luca Annibaletti, will continue together with Invitalia its activities of confrontation between the parties and of monitoring the commitments signed in order to support the process of industrial reconversion and protection of workers. Also present at the table were representatives of the Ministry of Labor, the Tuscany Region, local authorities, Fim, Fiom and Uilm and Invitalia.

“The meeting and the agreement confirm how hard we worked with all the parties to find a serious solution that would not desertify the territory by firing hundreds of people: the Mise will continue to monitor the evolution of the situation”, says the Deputy Minister for the Economic development, Alessandra Todde. The framework agreement on clarity, timing and guarantees of the reindustrialisation process “is bound to the approval of the workers ‘referendum and to the permanent assembly: the pivot of the agreement is the guarantee of employment continuity and workers’ rights”, affirms the Rsu of the company, according to which “the framework agreement will be further completed by agreements within the company”.
