The forcefulness of the probative material presented by a prosecutor from the Arauca Section was decisive for the guarantee control judges to impose custodial measures on a man and two adolescents for their alleged responsibility in the crimes of aggravated violent carnal access and kidnapping simple against an indigenous woman.
The events occurred on September 25, 2022, when the defendants apparently subdued, beat, and detained the victim against her will, a woman belonging to the Los Iguanitos indigenous community, which is located in a rural area of the department of Arauca.
The probative material shows that the woman was subjected to all kinds of sexual harassment during the 11 hours in which she was held in a house that would belong to one of those investigated.
In search and search procedures carried out this May 24, in the Las Brisas neighborhood, corregimiento of Puerto Jordán, jurisdiction of the municipality of Arauca (Arauca), an adult was captured and two minors were apprehended by servers of the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), with the support of the National Police and the National Army.
The guarantee control judges accepted the arguments of the Prosecutor’s Office and sent the man to jail, while the two minors were sent to a preventive detention center.
