Given the insecurity in the area of the department of Itapúa, a state of emergency was declared, Governor Javier Pereira confirmed this Thursday.
He recalled that after the robbery at the branch of the National Development Bank in Natalio, they received a visit from the police authorities, in order to learn about the security task in the department of Itapúa.
He explained that until there is a feeling of security in the area, the emergency declaration will be maintained. Finally, the governor of Itapúa mentioned that the declaration of emergency is empowered by the National Constitution.
