Islamabad: On the problem of banning non-filer cellular SIMs, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) stated that 9,000 SIMs have been banned thus far, and the FBR has given permission to telecom firms to ban 30,000 SIMs.
According to FBR spokesperson, FBR sends telecom firms to dam 5 thousand non-file SIMs every single day, PTA has no authority to dam SIMs.
FBR spokesperson stated that FBR is sending telecom firms to dam SIMs below Section 114 of Income Tax.
FBR had printed SIMS block record of 5 lakh 6 671 non-files, Income Tax General Order 2024 has already been issued for this goal.
