Thousands of people crowded along the streets as runners pass by
The twenty-three year old British Matthew Walls (Bora-Hansgrohe) won the Gran Piemonte in the sprint, an in-line cycling race held by Rocca Canavese in Borgosesia (Vercelli) and which crossed the entire Canavese area. Beaten by a whisker Giacomo Nizzolo; third the Dutchman Olav Kooij.
The end of the race was characterized by a skid around a median that put many runners in difficulty. Thousands of people gathered along the roads from Valperga to Ivrea to watch the runners pass by.
