Guangzhou Railway Group experienced a surge in passenger flow on the last day of the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday, sending a record 2.318 million passengers on April 6. This marked a 12.7% increase compared to the same period in 2019 when 2.142 million passengers were transported.

Among the busiest stations were Guangzhou South Railway Station, which sent 199,000 passengers and received 322,000 passengers. Shenzhen North Railway Station sent 165,000 passengers and received 27,800 passengers, while Changsha South Railway Station sent 173,000 passengers and received 149,000 passengers.

As passengers began their return journeys after the holiday, Guangzhou Railway Group saw a small peak in return passenger flow. The trend observed was passengers returning from surrounding small and medium-sized cities to central cities. To accommodate the surge in travelers, the railway group operated 2,585 high-speed trains and 303 ordinary-speed trains on April 6. Additionally, 183 additional high-speed trains and 93 ordinary-speed trains were opened to ensure adequate transportation capacity for returning passengers.

With the holiday travel rush coming to an end, Guangzhou Railway Group continues to provide efficient and reliable transportation services for passengers traveling to and from major cities in the region.
