Britain’s Prince Harry and his wife Meghan wish Princess Kate “health and healing” after she publicly announced today that she has been diagnosed with cancer.
“We wish Kate and the family health and healing, and hope they can achieve this privately and in peace,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a brief but clear statement.
Just last week there was talk of a possible “final rift” between Prince Harry and his brother William, Kate’s husband. The reason was the fact that the brothers did not appear together last Thursday during an awards ceremony in honor of their mother, the late Princess Diana.
“The lines between Harry and William are dead. There were already signals for this earlier,” said United Kingdom expert Harry De Paepe in our newspaper. “Both at Charles’s coronation and when the king was admitted to hospital for his cancer treatment, Harry came from the US to London. But on none of those occasions were any images taken to prove the brothers met.”
Charles also responded to Kate’s announcement of the news. He said through Buckingham Palace that he is “so proud of her courage to speak as she did” and that he remains in “closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law.”
Kate’s brother James Middleton honored his sister with a photo of them together as children. “Over the years we have climbed many mountains together. As a family we will also climb this with you,” he wrote on Instagram.(MTS)
