SAN BENIGNO CANAVESE. Sixteen years of sentence, so decided the Court of Assizes of Ivrea led by the president of the court Vincenzo Bevilacqua, with the magistrate Antonio Borretta as a side judge. Renato Vecchia, 46, will have to serve them on probation in a psychiatric facility in San Maurizio Canavese, defended Silvia Di Nunno and Calogero Piccadaci (Basilio Foti studio) who killed his mother Ermanna Pedrini on 15 October 2020 with at least 27 stab wounds.

The discussion according to the accusation, supported by the prosecutor Alessandro Gallo who had asked for a 24-year sentence, had degenerated for economic reasons. The man was recognized as being mentally ill at the time of the murder, which did not prevent the trial but was fundamental for the determination of the sentence.

The children of Vecchia, as the grandchildren of Ermanna Pedrini, have filed a civil action, through the lawyer Marco Stabile, and have obtained compensation of 30 thousand euros each. “A fair compensation – commented Stabile -, in a story in which nothing and no one will be able to return their grandmother’s affection to them”.
