The man was on the walkway that goes up to Torre Picotta, in the northern part of Tolmezzo
TOLMEZZO. The personnel of the Forni Avoltri station of the Alpine Rescue intervened, between 12.50 and 13.50 on Tuesday 14 June, in Tolmezzo, along the path that climbs to Torre Picotta, in the northern part of the Carnic town, to help a man injured in following a disastrous fall. On the spot also the rescuers of the Guardia di Finanza, the ambulance, the regional helicopter rescue, the fire brigade and the carabinieri.
The call came to Nue112 from the manager of the restaurant “Da Modesto” who noticed a man falling into one of the rockfall nets above the town.
The injured person is a resident of 1948 who, after falling, tumbled for about fifteen meters while descending along the path that connects Torre Picotta to the town.
The medical technical team of the air ambulance was disembarked and together with other technicians went up the path until they reached the injured person. The latter was stabilized and boarded and taken to the street where he was delivered to the ambulance, which then proceeded to transfer him to the nearby hospital for the investigation of the case.
