“We will withdraw the appeal that was presented to the decision to archive the Health Reform before the plenary session of the Senate. We have analyzed and evaluated that the best thing for the country is to present a new Reform text that is agreed upon with the different sectors and actors of the health system. With all the willingness to build bridges of dialogue and agreements to advance the changes that the country needs. It is time to put the advances that Colombians need above our differences,” said Senator Martha Peralta, of the Historical Pact.
The proposal to transform the EPS has been the result of extensive discussions and work tables that involved representatives from different sectors, including patients, health personnel, service providers and EPS unions. Among the aspects addressed are the new role of the EPS, their responsibilities, interaction with other actors in the system and competencies. Stands out the inclusive approach to this process, that seeks to collect the contributions and needs of all interested parties.
