Angelini Foundation embraces the idea of the University of Padua. Personal statistics and information on the territory are foreseen
BELLUNO. A useful app to make the most of the benefits of the mountains for our health. The project was presented yesterday by the Giovanni Angelini Foundation during one of the appointments in the Oltre le Vette calendar.
The mountain perfectly combines all the aspects considered fundamental for the development of a global idea of health (extended, therefore, with respect to the psychophysical state of the individual) and how this is essential for a model of sustainable development. The mountain, in fact, can be seen as the perfect synthesis of these two aspects, through the promotion of physical activity and the enhancement of the territory, which can be implemented through the development of conscious and eco-sustainable tourism.
“Hence the idea of the” Health Paths “project, presented yesterday by Professor Andrea Ermolao of the University of Padua, together with collaborators Nicola Borsato and Marco Vecchiato,” explains Ester Cason Angelini, “which plans to create an app that take into account for those who walk in the mountains all the beneficial elements of the chosen path, but also be able to create a profile of the user and his physical problems, to help him choose the most suitable routes “.
On the basis of scientific data, the benefits deriving from living and practicing physical exercise in the mountains were presented at the conference at the Municipal Council and illustrated a project that aims to favor the safe use of the paths of the Belluno mountains and to make our environment attractive. mountain.
“Sentieri della salute” aims to classify some mountain trails in the province of Belluno on the basis of the cardiovascular commitment required, the impact on the osteo-articular system and on other systems and the intrinsic risk of problems linked to the path; the aim is also to encourage a conscious and informed attendance of the mountains by that large slice of the population that presents chronic clinical problems and that can benefit from the potential benefits, including psychological ones, of the mountain environment, without increasing the your own risk of experiencing cardiovascular events or any type of medical problem related to your health condition.
«Not only counting the steps, therefore», Cason Angelini underlines, «but also blood saturation, beats, etc. In addition, for example, to a reminder to take the right breaks along the way ».
However, there will be a statistic of the type of activity that the subject will carry out (kilometers traveled, height difference, slopes, travel time, energy expenditure, etc.) as many tools designed for sport already do. The software, however, can also act as a tool for the promotion and enhancement of the entire mountain territory, providing information regarding ecology, geography, the history of the territory, and eco-sustainable activities.
“To see this app at work, however, we will have to wait a little longer, because there are some algorithms to be developed that are necessary for itsor functioning », explains the managing director of the foundation. All this is also supported by recent scientific literature, which is highlighting the potential role of the so-called “forest therapy”, a therapy that exploits the beneficial effects that can derive from life and attendance in natural environments, on the cardiovascular, immune and health systems. mental (stress, depression, anxiety) and on other organs and systems.
