“We took a big step in our fight against suicide and discrimination in Casanare,” said the liberal Representative who recognized the important participation of women and leaders during the Public Hearing of the Bill ‘Through which the Route is created Comprehensive Prevention and Care for the Mental Health of Children and Adolescents (RISMNA) from Basic and Secondary Education Institutions in Colombia’.

The lawyer and digital creator thanked Archila Suárez for allowing her to present before the Congress of the Republic her campaign called “Don’t stay silent, open your face” with which she is impacting the youth population of the department to counteract the psychological impact derived from neglect. family and suicide attempts in educational institutions, also exposing alarming data on suicide attempts that reach the shocking figure of 29 cases in Yopal and 52 in all of Casanare so far this year.

The leader and reference of the Autism Group TEA Casanare Andrea Salcedo and who a little over a week ago led, together with the Liberal Congressman, the March for Autism Awareness in Yopal, demanded that the delegates of the National Government and the ministries of Health and Education present in the Hearing, that work be done and effective results are given that guarantee the rights for the care of this vulnerable population, “we have many expectations with the mental health care route but today I ask you to look at deep Colombia, if we are a power world of life then take the side of the caregiver, let’s be human and take real measures,” he indicated.

For his part, Juan Camilo Caro Daza, delegate of the Ministry of Education, assured that these requests will be taken into account and although there is already a mental health care route established for educational institutions, it will be analyzed according to this new project. of law in progress, as well as the strengthening of the different aspects that comprise it so that comprehensive care is provided from early childhood.

This Public Hearing was also attended by Aldemar Parra Espitia, delegate of the Ministry of Health, Betty Roncancio of the National Autism League, The Blue Hearts Corporation, the Mental Health Network, the Mental Health Observatory of the Universidad del Norte and Deans of the Faculties of Psychology and Education from the Javeriana University.
