Gustavo Morales, president of Fasecolda, reveals that this year will bring changes in evasion, fraud, road accidents, and hospital rates.
SOAT prices for motorcycles and some public service vehicles are expected to be analyzed, which could result in adjustments for those who are close to renewing their policies.
Given these changes, the option is presented to acquire the SOAT quickly and safely through Nequi and Rappi, two digital platforms that simplify the process.
Steps to buy the SOAT with Nequi:
Enter the Services section at the bottom right of the Nequi application and choose the “Insurance” option. Select the “SOAT” option from the bottom menu and press “Ready to continue.” Opt for “Digital SOAT Purchase” and choose the pocket from which the payment will be made. Confirm the purchase after verifying the information provided. Accept the Terms and Conditions to complete the process.
Acquisition of SOAT with Rappi:
To obtain the SOAT through Rappi, simply enter the vehicle license plate. The system will quote the value of the insurance and provide detailed information about the validity and the amount to be paid. Then, follow the instructions to complete the process.
It is important to note that SOAT is essential, as it provides coverage in cases of injuries to pedestrians, passengers and drivers. The policy covers medical expenses, transportation, permanent disability, death compensation and funeral services.
The authorities emphasize the importance of having an updated SOAT, warning of the direct consequences in the event of an accident. Vehicle owners in Colombia are urged not to travel without this mandatory insurance.
