The Indiana Pacers have made a major move, acquiring All-Star forward Pascal Siakam from the Toronto Raptors in a three-team deal that also involves the New Orleans Pelicans. Sources confirmed to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the Pacers will be sending Bruce Brown, Jordan Nwora, and three first-round picks to the Raptors in exchange for Siakam.
The Pelicans are the third team in the deal, sending Kira Lewis to the Raptors and a second-round pick to Indiana. Siakam, who has spent all eight of his NBA seasons with Toronto, is averaging 22.2 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 4.9 assists this season. Two of the first-round picks going to the Raptors are for 2024, while the third is for 2026.
Siakam is excited about the move and is expected to be eager to negotiate a new contract with the Pacers this summer. His agent, Todd Ramasar, expressed enthusiasm for Siakam’s new opportunity with the Pacers, saying “Their future looks bright there.”
In addition to Siakam, the Pacers will also receive a second-round pick from the Pelicans. Brown, who is averaging 12.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists this season, and Nwora, who has scored 5.2 points per game, will make the move to the Raptors as part of the deal. Siakam, who can become a free agent in July, will bring a significant boost to the Pacers’ roster as they look to build for the future.
