After approval, the summer grain area in our province is 19.397 million mu this year, with a total output of 9.64 billion catties, an increase of 170 million catties or 1.9% year-on-year. Compared with other provinces in the country, the growth rate of summer grain output in our province ranks second among the 13 major grain producing provinces.
The provincial party committee and the provincial government have taken strong political responsibility and resolutely promoted the implementation of the party and government responsibility for food security. Since February, spring field management, spring ploughing preparation, and “three summers” production site promotion meetings have been held successively, and with strong measures, a set of “combination punches” to ensure summer grain and win a bumper harvest has been launched.
Our province has created 50 green, high-quality and high-efficiency demonstration films in 10 major wheat-producing counties, driving large-scale increases in production and efficiency. Vigorously promote high-quality, high-yield and multi-resistant varieties, “Fumai 368” in Xiangzhou District received 691.2 kg per mu, setting the highest record of wheat per unit yield in our province; “Zhongyouza 501” cultivated in our province where the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences is located The yield per mu is 368.87 kilograms, setting a new high-yield record for rapeseed in the Yangtze River Basin.
This year, our province strives for the financial support of the central government, and finance at all levels has invested a total of 105 million yuan for spring prevention and spring management. The province dispatched more than 5,000 specialized plant protection organizations and 52,000 high-efficiency plant protection equipment to complete 17.188 million mu of wheat pests and diseases, and the quality of wheat increased.
