On August 21st, after 10 years of silence, Kool & the Gang returned with an album, “Perfect Union”, in effect the 25th of a career that made generations of human beings dance. “My brother, Khalis, wrote the single several songs on this record in the period of Obama’s second presidential campaign,” Kool said in an official press release. That was a creative time for him and for all of us. Now that he’s dead, that name, “Perfect Union”, makes even more sense to me. ‘ Rest In Peace, and this is another tribute to you.
