If you haven’t been yet, go vote Opinions | .a week

it looks like it could be clear who won before midnight. One part of the electorate will be happy and the other will be disappointed. However, that is not the most important thing.

In competitions, it happens that someone ends up outside the podium. He tried in vain, he ran in vain, he scratched his opponent’s legs in vain, or fouled in any other way. The voter decided and it is a final decision. Presidential elections are nothing more than a competition. What is important, and perhaps, regardless of the result, even more important is whether the elections were free and fair. Because that is the first prerequisite for the others to be free.

The direct election of the president has another fantastic feature. During the election campaign, the character of the candidates is exposed, whether they want it to be or not. That’s how it is in this election too. And at the same time, it will show what we voters are like, what we prefer, what we desire, what we don’t like and what we are willing to tolerate for our favorites.

Let’s appreciate that we have free elections, because it wasn’t always like that. We must not forget that and we must remember that the bad times, when we did not have the possibility of free choice, can easily return. For example, because we are not going to vote.
