“That’s rat poison, do you know why? Because when we smoke joints after work on the steps of Piazza Croce Rossa, such big ‘panteganoni’ arrive. In Milan they go around ‘panteganoni’ and we threw away a bit of…”. With these words, Alessandro Impagnatiello last May 28th explained to the Senago carabinieri why there was a sachet of rat poison in his backpack. The ex-barman’s justification was immortalized in a video that was shot while he emptied his bag in front of the military just a day after the murder of his girlfriend Giulia Tramontano, who he had reported missing.
According to the prosecution, Impagnatiello attempted to poison his pregnant partner for months by administering the substance to her without her knowledge. On May 27, 2023, she then killed her with 37 stab wounds in their home in Senago, in the Milan area, after the girl had discovered the details of her parallel relationship with a colleague.
The trial against the man for voluntary homicide aggravated by premeditation is underway before the Court of Assizes of Milan.
