The Civil Protection of the Region, in consideration of the assessments of the Functional Center, has issued a Yellow level weather alert notice for sudden, sudden and intense rains and thunderstorms valid from 12 noon tomorrow, Wednesday 1 May, until 12 noon the day after tomorrow, Thursday 2 May, throughout Campania.
Storm phenomena will be characterized by forecast uncertainty and rapidity of evolution: they will gradually attenuate starting from late tomorrow evening. The possibility of lightning, hail and gusty winds is also expected. Attention, warns the Civil Protection, must be paid to the hydrogeological risk: among the main consequences of the impact of rain and storms on the ground are flooding, rise in the hydrometric levels of watercourses, flow of water on road surfaces, runoff with material transport, rock falls and landslides.
Due to possible hailstorms and gusts of wind, there could also be damage to temporary structures, public green areas and roofs. Municipalities are reminded to activate the Municipal Operations Centers and to implement all measures aimed at preventing, combating and mitigating the expected phenomena, in line with the respective municipal civil protection plans as well as monitoring the correct maintenance of public green areas.
