The allocation of 21 billion pesos to solve the problem of drinking water and the construction of a hospital with an investment of 36 billion stand out among the announcements made at the ‘Government with the People on the Pacific Coast’ conference, which was held on January 24 in the Cauca municipality of Guapi, chaired by the head of state, Gustavo Petro.

“The Ministry of Health has been working on the president’s mandate and then the construction of the hospital in the municipality of Guapi for a value of 36 billion pesos begins,” said the official.
He stated that two river ambulances will be delivered, worth 680 million pesos; Eleven health posts will be recovered in rural areas and four will be built in that coastal municipality.
A new agreement will be signed to solve the problem of drinking water, for 21 billion pesos and 20 billion pesos will be invested to strengthen rice production, taking advantage of the existing threshing plants.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Todos Somos Pacífico Fund will allocate 1.1 billion pesos for a reforestation project.
To boost the production of viche, the vice presidency will provide 4 billion pesos to characterize this alcoholic beverage, typical of the Pacific, and 2 billion pesos for the planting of cane for the distillate.
The House for the Dignity of Women will also be built, with resources of 1,000 million pesos, provided by the Ministry of Equality and 500 million by the Mayor’s Office of Guapi.
The Youth in Peace program will begin in the Cauca municipality with 600 beneficiaries.
Guapi will give up the land for the construction of the Multicampus university headquarters in the region.
