The Norwegian boys had an ideal starting point before the second half in Schladming. Five Norwegians advanced in Wednesday’s race, with Timon Haugan in the driver’s seat. The latter finished second in the first round and therefore started second last in the final.
After the cannon performance earlier that evening, great expectations were attached to the 27-year-old.
Haugan delivered the goods from start to finish in the final and drove into second place. Beaten only by Linus Strasser.
– This is wild. He hardly believes what he sees, exclaimed TV2’s commentator duo Espen Ween and Leif Kristian Nestvold-Haugen.

– Indescribable
Haugan himself seemed to be amazed at his own performance and expressed shocked joy at second place in Austria.
– That is the sickest thing I have ever experienced, I reached the finish line and saw green numbers and leadership. The feelings that were inside the body then were indescribable. Glory, it means a lot, he told TV2.
One who was not as happy when he crossed the finish line was Henrik Kristoffersen. He eventually finished in 6th place, but by no means seemed happy with it.
– Hell, Kristoffersen shouted in the goal area.
The alpinist has previously explained that he has struggled with illness and coughed through the interview with TV2 afterwards.
McGrath drove out
Alexander Steen Olsen and Sebastian Foss-Solevaag finished in 11th and 21st place respectively. Atle Lie McGrath drove out early in the race and never made it to the finish line in the second half.
– No no no. Such a shame, said Ween.
