Mayor Muñoz Bravo issued decree 225 and this January 29 he publicized it through the media.
Sites such as the Historic Center, parks, sports centers, educational institutions, churches, libraries, coliseums, green areas, among others, both in the urban and rural sectors of the municipality of Popayán, are protected, consumption, distribution and marketing of psychoactive substances.
This was announced by the mayor of Popayán, Juan Carlos Muñoz Bravo, when socializing Decree 225 through the media, issued in accordance with current regulations, starting, of course, from the Constitution and laws, as well as the powers given to local leaders by the national government to define restriction zones, with the central objective of ensuring compliance with the rights of the community and, especially, of girls, boys and adolescents.
“It must be clear that Payanes are not being prohibited from consuming the personal dose, permitted by Law, but rather consuming it in established areas and that ultimately affects non-consumers who demand spaces for healthy coexistence,” Muñoz stressed. Bravo.
Accompanied by the Metropolitan Police, the National Army and by the Secretary of Government, Consuelo Amparo Chantre, the first authority of the municipality indicated that failure to comply with this rule will have a financial penalty close to 174 thousand pesos.
For his part, Lieutenant Colonel Alex Molina, commander in charge of the Popayán Metropolitan Police, highlighted the coordination that is being carried out with the Municipal Administration in the sense of providing better security to the community and sent a message to the people of Payanes to that respect the areas covered by the standard.
“We will have the personnel ready to provide 24-hour surveillance and control at these sites, which will be reinforced by the Security Caravans that we are implementing,” Molina emphasized.
