SAN VITO AL TAGLIAMENTO. Excellent farewells, returns, and father and daughter candidates in two different lists but in support of the same candidate: this is how we can summarize the news of the filing of the lists of candidates for the office of mayor and for the municipal council in San Vito al Tagliamento.

Three aspiring mayors and 196 citizens who aspire to be municipal councilors: among these well-known names, outgoing councilors and people from civil society.

San Vito al Tagliamento is called to renew the municipal council after ten years of leadership of Antonio Di Bisceglie, Pd, former deputy. Di Bisceglie is no longer a candidate for the post of mayor having exhausted his two terms, but has decided to be part of the campaign, running with the Democratic Party for the office of city councilor.

The outgoing majority, the “San Vito grows” coalition, confirms Susi Centis, 59, midwife, councilor for social policies as candidate for mayor. A candidacy gained only a few weeks ago, after Federica Fogolin’s step backwards for family reasons. It is supported by three lists: Democratic Party, San Vito Bene Comune and Sinistra per San Vito which yesterday morning filed the names of the candidates. In the coalition, the biggest news concerns the Democratic Party where excellent farewells are recorded: no re-nomination for councilor Pier Giorgio Sclippa, for the candidate with responsibility for the budget David Quarin and the president of the municipal council Natalia Troìa. In addition to Di Bisceglie, the deputy mayor Federica Fogolin, the commissioner Carlo Candido and Valentina Francescon are re-nominated. Step back also for the commissioner Piero Maronese. Among the “well-known names” on the list of the Democratic Party is that of Franco Colonna, former head of pediatrics at the hospital of San Vito al Tagliamento.

In the San Vito Bene list, the leading municipality is Valentina Pegorer, followed by the councilor Emilio De Mattio and the outgoing councilor Donatella Piazza. Among the young people on the list also Emma Simon, the twenty-one-year-old daughter of the former general manager of Aas5 Giorgio Simon. In the Left list confirms Giovanna Coppola and Riccardo Segatti, the first outgoing councilor and the second councilor.

The coalition of civics, “San Vito civica” presents itself with the mayoral candidate Alberto Bernava, 38, with a degree in sociology and insurer. A long-standing candidate: he presented himself to the voters in July 2020. He is supported by three lists: Citizens for San Vito, Alternativa Comune and Vivere San Vito. In the first team there is the reconfirmation for the outgoing Andrea Bruscia and Giulia Napoli. Also on the list is Francesca Oberperfler, coordinator of the municipal civil protection volunteer team. Alternativa Comune puts the group leader Giacomo Collarile as leader. Also on the list Gio Battista Scodeller, born in 1938, with a long administrative experience behind him who resigned as a director last year. Florio Testolin, who in the last elections was a candidate for the center-right, is the leader of the Vivere San Vito list in support of Bernava.

The center-right coalition, “United for the future”, focuses on Valerio Delle Fratte, 48, a doctor, supported by the civic Amo San Vito, by Forza Italia, Fratelli d’Italia and Lega, officially presented in February. Iacopo Chiaruttini converges in Amo San Vito, after the break with the Brothers of Italy that he represented in the last council. Daniela Francescutto, already a candidate for mayor for the center-right in 2001, is back on the track. Giovanni Zanette, former city councilor, also returns. The outgoing Angelo Russo was reconfirmed. The League sees two “historical” party personalities nominated, Roberto Barel and Pierluigi Scodeller, to which are added new faces such as the head teacher Daniela Reina. Also on the list is the regional councilor of the Lega Alfonso Singh. Fratelli d’Italia has put the coordinator Guido Guidi as the leader. Leader for Forza Italia is Mario Zadro.

A three-way challenge between two candidates presenting party lists, Susi Centis and Valerio Delle Fratte, and one, Alberto Bernava, an expression of civic lists.

A challenge that most likely will not end on 4 October at 3 pm, when the polls will close. San Vito al Tagliamento exceeds 15,000 inhabitants, the limit beyond which the law provides for a ballot in the event that none of the candidates obtains more than 50% after two weeks.
