In Villach | Toddler had to be freed from the car by the fire department

A concerned father reported to the Villach fire department at around 6 p.m. on Monday. His little daughter was locked in his car in a parking lot in the Auen district and the doors could no longer be opened from the outside. The Villach main fire station (HFW) was alerted and found that the toddler was sitting in the child seat on the passenger side and the key was on the driver’s seat

“Using a special air cushion and plastic wedges, attempts were made from both sides to open the door enough to get to the key. “Ultimately, the rear door of the car was opened with the tools we had with us and the child was freed unharmed,” reports Chief Fire Chief Alexander Scharf, platoon commander of the HFW.

After the girl was freed, her comrades gave her a stuffed toy. It cannot currently be said why the vehicle was locked even though the key was inside.
