Indigenous teacher murdered between El Dos and Las Ánimas, Pan American Union

An indigenous teacher belonging to the community of Tarena, municipality of Tadó, was murdered on March 7 at around 5:30 pm when he was traveling on his motorcycle between the towns of El Dos and Las Ánimas (municipality of Unión Panamericana).

The victim was identified as Jarinson Oky Valencia, and he was traveling accompanied by a brother-in-law from the municipality of Istmina to Tadó. The vehicle broke down and they were pushing it, when two guys on a motorcycle arrived and without saying a word started shooting him.

The deceased has four gunshot wounds in different parts of the body.

Jarinson Oky had a degree in mathematics and had been working at the Indigenous IE of Tarena, municipality of Tadó. He graduated from the Technological University of Chocó.
