During the last few weeks, the Risaralda Development Promotion Institute -Infider- has been touring the different municipal administrations of the department in order to publicize its lines of credit, as a resource that allows carrying out works or projects that encourage the progress of each of the sixth category municipalities.
The approach adopted involves close collaboration with both municipalities and private entities that perform public service functions. This means that cooperation is not limited exclusively to state entities, but also extends to private actors. However, this inclusion of private entities comes with a specific condition: they must provide a public service or their projects must have a significant impact on the territorial entity.
Duparfay Buitrago, manager of Infider, said that they have four lines of credit that “given the economic circumstances of the territorial entity, they can rely on us and offer a line of credit that is Development, long-term, up to 10 years, that is loans to develop their housing projects, improvement projects in the urban sector, in the rural sector, infrastructure works, in the municipal territorial entity, in the State’s social enterprises, in hospitals or in public service companies. Likewise, Infider has other lines that allow payment to third parties, loans for payroll and another for public servants.
To date, two visits have been made to the department, specifically in Quinchía and Belén de Umbría. The next visit will be made in Cartago, Valle del Cauca, in order to evaluate a project related to a Business Center in the area adjacent to the Santa Ana International Airport.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Quinchía, Jader Clavijo, highlighted this approach with the ‘Villa de los Cerros’ by ensuring that “it is very pleasant to know that there is an entity like Infider working for the municipalities and for the department.” Likewise, he added that “we will have another meeting where we will make decisions about acquiring the services that they offer us, so we will study that possibility and for that we must make a comparison between normal banking and public banking.”
