[New Tang Dynasty Beijing time August 03, 2021]Inner Mongolia’s high-level personnel changed. Wang Lixia, secretary of the Hohhot Municipal Party Committee, succeeded Bu Xiaolin and was promoted to deputy secretary of the Inner Mongolia party committee and secretary of the government party group. It is expected to serve as the chairman of the Inner Mongolia government. This also means that Bu Xiaolin, a descendant of the “Mongolian King” and a princeling background, resigned ahead of schedule.

According to the “Inner Mongolia News Network” news on the evening of August 2, the Inner Mongolia government party group held a meeting that day. Wang Lixia, deputy secretary of the Inner Mongolia party committee and government party group secretary, presided over the meeting and delivered a speech.

The above information shows that Wang Lixia, member of the Standing Committee of the Inner Mongolia Party Committee and Secretary of the Hohhot Municipal Party Committee, has succeeded Bu Xiaolin and has been promoted to Deputy Secretary of the Inner Mongolia Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Government. It is expected that the next step will be the chairman of the Inner Mongolia government.

The 63-year-old Bu Xiaolin has served in Inner Mongolia for a long time. He is the granddaughter of Ulanhu, the former vice chairman of the Communist Party of China, known as the “King of Mongolia,” and the daughter of Buhe, the former vice chairman of the National People’s Congress. He has served as chairman of the Inner Mongolian government for three generations.

In 2016, as a female Mongolian official, Bu Xiaolin, who was then the head of the United Front Work of the Inner Mongolia Party Committee, broke the rule and became the chairman of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Government, replacing Bater, who entered Beijing to perform his duties.

On January 26 this year, Bu Xiaolin suddenly fainted on the rostrum when he was giving a government work report at the two sessions, and was lifted off the court. It is rumored that Xiaolin fainted due to a stroke. Since then, Bu Xiaolin has not appeared for a long time.

During the National Two Sessions of the Communist Party of China in March this year, although Bu Xiaolin’s name was among the members of the Inner Mongolia delegation, she was no longer the deputy head of the Inner Mongolia delegation. And when the Chinese Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping participated in the deliberations of the Inner Mongolia delegation, Bu Xiaolin was not seen.

Wang Lixia, who will be the chairman of Inner Mongolia, is from Jianping, Liaoning, Mongolian, has a doctoral degree in economics, originally taught at Xi’an Institute of Statistics, and later entered the political arena, serving as the director of the Shaanxi Provincial Statistics Bureau, the mayor of Tongchuan, and the deputy governor of Shaanxi, 2016 In the year he was transferred to Inner Mongolia to serve as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of the Autonomous Region and Minister of the United Front Work.

Apart from health reasons, Bu Xiaolin’s early resignation does not rule out Xi Jinping’s disguised cleansing of Inner Mongolia’s officialdom. Prior to this, Xi Jinping took a series of rectification actions against Inner Mongolia.

In July and August last year, the Beijing authorities required elementary schools teaching Mongolian to use Chinese textbooks, which triggered protests among the people in Inner Mongolia. They worry that the forced promotion of Chinese teaching will not only plunge Mongolian into an existential crisis, but also a symbol of depriving the Mongolians of their final national identity.

Immediately afterwards, the Beijing authorities launched a “20-year back investigation” on the officialdom of Inner Mongolia, and strictly investigated corruption in the coal resources sector, which led to the fall of thousands of officials.
