Investigation into Greco now Brescia is asking for archiving

by admin

After three months of great tensions, some serenity returns, at least in the office of the prosecutor Francesco Greco. He recently had the certainty that the Brescia prosecutor asked for the filing of the file that saw him under investigation for omission of official acts. But the relief is only halfway, because Greco’s thoughts immediately go to his deputies. To the investigations still open on the addition of Laura Pedio, and to the risk of a trial for Fabio De Pasquale and for the prosecutor Sergio Spadaro: “The accusation of omission of official acts against them is neither in heaven nor on earth – says Greco -. What evidence would they have failed to submit to Eni’s trial? An incomplete draft, a well-known video ».

Greco was accused of having “delayed” until May 2020 the opening of a file on the phantom “Loggia Hungary” of which the lawyer Piero Amara had spoken, questioned between December 2019 and January 2020. A hypothesis that does not hold up according to the prosecutor Francesco Prete. Because it was not up to Greco to decide to open a file on the alleged secret association: the investigations were entrusted to the prosecutor Paolo Storari and to the adjunct Pedio, with “ample autonomy” from the prosecutor. But also because Storari – who, in order to “protect himself” from the alleged “inertia” of his bosses, delivered the minutes to the then councilor of the CSM Piercamillo Davigo (both under investigation) – would have communicated his complaints to Greco in writing only starting from 27 April: the opening of the investigation came after fifteen days, too short a time to contest an omission. It is difficult to demonstrate, however, any previous oral solicitations by Storari: it is the word of the prosecutor against that of his prosecutor. M.Ser.

Eni’s clarification

With regard to the article published this morning by La Stampa with the title “Investigation on Greco, now Brescia asks for archiving”, the following is specified.

Eni, before July 2019, the period in which the video of Armanna of 28 July 2014 emerged as part of the Opl245 trial, was never in possession of a copy of this document, nor of its full transcript, but only of a note / extract from the GDF showing several lines of excerpts (notoriously unusable, among other things, for defense purposes) out of the 73 resulting from the full transcript that respect a video of over an hour.

This video was incomprehensibly surprisingly defined as irrelevant by PM De Pasquale, contrary to what the Court of Milan later established in its acquittal “because the fact does not exist”. The relevance was also dealt with by the sentence defined on appeal on Obi and Di Nardo.

Eni highlights how the existence of a second video has emerged, starring Piero Amara, which proves the existence of a partnership between Amara himself and other accomplices aimed at hitting Eni’s top management for personal economic interests. This video is in the possession of the Milan Public Prosecutor’s Office as part of the investigations on the so-called misdirection, the outcome of which has long been awaited.
