The Punjab Tourism Department and Roada on Sunday organized a jeep rally, named ‘Lahore Ravi Cross Rally’, on the sandy ground on the banks of the Ravi River that runs through the city of Lahore.
A 35-km track was constructed on the sandy ground on the banks of the Ravi River to hold the rally. According to the drivers participating in the race, this track was not easy to cross.
Arham Chaudhary, who came to take part in the race, said: ‘The track is unique, difficult and a bit dangerous. Because there is sand and clay here. But it’s a good track.’
Five different categories were included in the rally, including Jeep Race, Dirt Bike Race, Street Bike and Track Race.
According to information provided by Roda, 120 drivers registered for the race, including 70 jeep drivers and 20 bike riders, while 10 women also participated in the race.

Driver Arslan Azhar said: ‘Earlier such activities are organized in Cholistan and other remote areas. But this rally took place inside Lahore and hopefully in future we will see more such jeep races in Lahore itself.

In the opinion of Sahibzada Sultan Muhammad Ali, ‘those who cannot go to distant deserts to watch the race will have such an opportunity in Lahore to watch national and international level drivers who have come here from all over the country. .’
Sultan further said that he is missing the famous Nader Magsi for the Jeep release in this race.
He said that when a race track is built near the city, the youth and other citizens can come there and watch the race.
“Rather, we can get such talent from here, who can wave the flag of Pakistan all over the world.”
Shaiq Muhammad Shehzad, another fan who came to see the rally, thanked the organizers of the race and said that our Cholistan Jeep Rally is famous all over the world and now people will be interested in the Lahore Jeep Rally too.
