Luz Janeth Forero Martínez, national director of the Search Unit for Persons Reported as Missing -UBPD-, by resolution 223 of 2024, appointed Judys Elena Murillo Martínez from Chocó as the new coordinator of the UBPD in the Department of Chocó.

With an outstanding career in defense of Human Rights and work with victims of the armed conflict, differential ethnic and gender approaches, Murillo Martínez assumes this important position with the commitment to continue joining efforts for the humanitarian and extrajudicial search for people reported missing. , through relationships with black and Afro-Colombian communities, indigenous peoples, civil, religious, community and political authorities of the territory.

Judys Elena Murillo Martínez is a lawyer and graduate, with specializations in Human Rights, Educational Project Management and Constitutional Law. She had been serving as a reference for black, Afro-Colombian, Raizal and Palenquera communities in the Directorate of Participation, Contact with Victims and Differential Approaches of this entity.

“It will be with the help of all our strategic allies that we will be able to find our missing people and alleviate the pain that has mourned our Chocoan families for so many years,” he said.
