Keydomar Vallenilla and Alberto Mestre qualified this Saturday for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
This was confirmed by the Venezuelan Olympic Committee (COV) through their social networks.
Vallenilla, silver medalist in weightlifting at Tokyo 2020, got his ticket to the capital of France at the World Cup being held in Phuket, Thailand. With a single attempt he achieved his goal.
The man from Caracas scored 165 kg in the first attempt of the snatch, which was later surpassed by 169 kg, which placed him in tenth position in the classification in the 89 kg category.

Vallenilla joined Julio Mayora, Anyelin Venegas and Katherin Echandia as the four weightlifting athletes who will represent the country in the Olympic Games.
Swimming also celebrated this Saturday. Alberto Mestre secured his ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics to join his brother Alfonso.
The eldest of the sons of fellow swimmer Alberto Mestre registered 21.80 in the 50 m freestylewhich earned him the national record, the coronation in the IX International Open of the Dominican Republic and the classification to Paris.
Venezuela already has 22 insured athletes for one of the most important events on the sports calendar that will be held from July 26 to August 11.
