“We need a technocratic Governor to meet the development challenges of the city of Kinshasa,” declared the Bana Kin and Les Kinois associations on Wednesday, February 28, during a press conference held in the Congolese capital.
“This city (Ed. the city of Kinshasa) is slowly dying. So, we need new blood to restore the image of our capital Kinshasa. The one who must have the best profile is first of all a technocrat, a serious man, far from Byzantine political policies,” indicated Ardent Kabambi, one of the leaders of the “Les Kinois” association.
According to him, the future governor must be able to put an end to the recurring traffic jams faced by Kinshasa residents:
“It is someone who must make concrete proposals to change the environmental configuration of the city province of Kinshasa by, for example, reducing recurring traffic jams, by cleaning up notoriously unsanitary environments, by fighting against the kuluna phenomenon… The city of Kinshasa is a city with many challenges.”
