Local Community Celebrates Lantern Festival with Dumplings and Riddles
Residents of Jinhong Community and Gantang Community in Zhishan Street recently came together to celebrate the Lantern Festival with a special event. The theme of the activity was “Guessing Cheap Riddles and Making Cheap Dumplings during the Lantern Festival”, and it brought people together for a night of fun and festivity.
During the event, participants got their hands dirty making dumplings from scratch. From kneading the dough to mixing the filling and rolling out the skins, everyone worked together to create delicious dumplings. The round and round “little ingots” quickly filled the room, delighting everyone with their warm and tasty presence.
In addition to the dumpling-making activities, the event also featured lantern riddles for participants to solve. Riddles covering topics such as party style and clean government, word play, idioms, and everyday life were prepared for the occasion. The atmosphere was filled with laughter and camaraderie as people tried to decipher the tricky clues.
One resident, Feng Zhiyi, shared their experience of the event, saying, “I am very happy to participate in this event. Dumplings symbolize reunion and harmony, and everyone had a great time. And guessing lantern riddles is also a challenging activity, and everyone is working hard to guess the meaning behind the riddles. We also learned a lot from it.”
The Lantern Festival celebration was a success, bringing the community together for a night of food, fun, and friendship. As lanterns lit up the night sky, the happy dumpling band savored the joy of this traditional festival.
