This February 23, in the afternoon and after leading the Department of Social Prosperity for five months, former chief of staff Laura Sarabia will officially return to the Casa de Nariño to take up her new position as director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic. Her return comes amid criticism of the scandal due to alleged excess of duties by the official registered in mid-2022.
Sarabia, it should be remembered, has become President Gustavo Petro’s most trusted person, who has repeatedly defended his management and, despite the scandal that involved his former chief of staff and the former Colombian ambassador to Venezuela Armando Benedetti, he brought her back to the executive to accompany him in his political project.
After working very closely with the head of state, although under the title of director of the DPS, she will now serve as director of the DAPRE replacing Carlos Ramón González, who held the position after the ministerial shakeup that brought Mauricio Lizcano to the MinTIC.
