Through a statement to the public, the organizations that represent the Lgtbiq+ population in Cesar, ratified their willingness to work hand in hand with the departmental government to achieve approval of the sector’s public policy, based on a document elaborate technical that they hope to present before the Departmental Assembly with the support of the governor, Elvia Milena Sanjuán.

Rafael Jiménez, legal representative of the Diversity and Life Foundation of the municipality of El Paso, reiterated that they are ready to articulate the actions that are necessary to direct a public policy for the Lgtbiq+ population in the department. “The process is advanced, today we have a technical document for the consultation stage and to present it to the Departmental Assembly of Cesar. “Ratify the commitment to a visible, diverse, inclusive and participatory Cesar.”

For her part, Andrea Durán, from the Lgtbiq+ technical table in the municipality of Pelaya, highlighted the need to undertake work in the north, south and center of the department to guarantee the rights of this population that today is placed in the hands of the governor of the Cesar, the willingness to develop social plans that allow the sector to be strengthened.
“We believe that by working as a team and recognizing the importance of the leadership present in each municipality of Cesar, a diverse and inclusive territory can be achieved. “That in this quadrennium we can raise the flag of unity, respect and tolerance, in order to contribute to these spaces of peace in our department,” the organizations stated in the statement.
