State Council Holds National Conference on Production Safety
Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 26 – On the afternoon of January 26, the State Council held a national video and telephone conference on production safety. Li Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Premier of the State Council, emphasized at the meeting the importance of implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping’s instructions on production safety.
Li Qiang stressed the need to prioritize the safety of people and life, learn from recent accidents, tighten responsibilities, investigate hidden dangers, and ensure the implementation of safety measures to prevent frequent and repeated safety incidents of all kinds. He also highlighted the importance of ensuring the safety of people’s lives and property, as well as maintaining overall social stability, in order to ensure that the people have a happy and peaceful Spring Festival.
With the Spring Festival approaching, Li Qiang pointed out that various safety risks are on the rise, and all regions and departments must be mentally alert and take powerful and targeted measures to ensure production safety.
The conference also emphasized the need to conduct a comprehensive investigation of hidden risks in production safety, especially in areas affecting the masses, key industries, and key areas. Li Qiang stressed the importance of using daily inspections, special spot inspections, and patrol inspections to strengthen monitoring and effectiveness, as well as promoting intelligent management and control of safety risks through the use of new information technology.
Li Qiang also emphasized the importance of implementing the responsibility system for safety production, holding enterprises accountable for safety measures, and promoting joint supervision to effectively eliminate gaps in safety oversight.
The meeting was presided over by Zhang Guoqing, and attended by Wang Xiaohong and Wu Zhenglong.
The State Council’s national conference on production safety comes as a response to recent safety incidents and aims to ensure the safety of people’s lives and property during the upcoming Spring Festival.
