Merchants from the downtown of Ciudad del Este hope to make good sales for the long Corpus Christi holiday, which begins today in the neighboring country. According to reports, the Foz de Yguazú Airport expects a flow of 25,000 visitors during this period, which for Brazilians represents a mini vacation, and that a high percentage cross the border to make purchases in the departmental capital.
In this sense, the merchants prepared themselves in recent days by supplying their stores with all kinds of products, including seasonal clothing, as well as accessories for the cold, firstly, because there is an announcement that the temperature will drop on the weekend.
During this special date, generally, there is a significant arrival of tourists to the area of the Three Borders, and a good number of these tend to go to our country, and take advantage of their stay to shop.
As they explained, some, in order to attract customers, have launched promotions, others resort to freezing the price of the dollar in order to benefit, attracting customers with more convenient prices.
The merchants predict good sales, since this month of June started with a low commercial movement in Ciudad del Este.
Last year they had managed to sell many items in this period, mainly clothing, footwear and accessories for the cold, as well as blankets and blankets. Now they hope that this year the activity will be similar, in order to close the first half of 2023 positively.
