We contacted the Privacy Guarantor, obtaining the delivery of the data within 5 days, to start the new path on another telematic platform, which will keep the direct line with our activists alive. After so many years of collaboration it was right that everything ended with an agreement. ‘Debts are not discussed, they are honored’: I had given my word, I followed the facts ». «We only take a few days to verify the data and prepare all the preliminary activities for the voting operations. Immediately after we will present the new Statute and the Charter of principles and values: a phase will be open for the comments of the members and by the end of this month there will be the decision with an online vote first on the Statute and then on the new leader of the M5S ” .
And again: «There are some trenches that the Movement has never thought of abandoning: the fight against socio-economic inequalities and precariousness; proximity to the needs of young people, families and businesses; the commitment to an eco-sustainable future, to public ethics and to strengthen the law against all mafias. We will talk about it, we will confront: but this will always be our common ground. It is time to look forward now. Casaleggio leaves the Movement
Immediately after comes the announcement of Davide Casaleggio: he “unsubscribes” from the 5 Star Movement. His intention is expressed in a post on the blog of the Stars. “Like so many other people I have had the good fortune to meet along this path, in these 15 years I have contributed for free, without ever asking for anything in return, other than respect for those fundamental principles, values and rules that were the basis of the project that together with my father we started in 2005 and who, when he left us, wanted them to be kept in Rousseau. And so it will be. We have built a model of active citizenship that is now considered among the best 5 in the world and I am deeply proud of it. The path of participation from below will continue along the path we have traced, maintaining the integrity, consistency and moral solidity that we have always cultivated, in the thousand ways in which it will be possible. With pain, at the completion of the data transfer, I will unsubscribe from the 5 Star Movement as many have decided to do in recent months. This is no longer the MoVement and I am sure not even my father would have recognized it anymore ».
“I have asked for the same respect for the rules in all these months to identify a legitimate legal representative through a democratic vote, but in these days the political bodies of the 5 Star Movement and the Privacy Guarantor have decided, obviously also taking full responsibility of all the consequences, to indicate who he was. If you look for political legitimacy in a court, it means that internal democracy has failed ”.
«A few days ago – continues the post – I clearly expressed what was, in my opinion, the way to go to solve the critical issues in which the 5 Star Movement has found itself. I asked all the legitimate bodies to call a vote, making Rousseau available, in order to follow up the decisions of the members in full compliance with the Statute. I was told that we want to take another path, as unfortunately happened too many times in the last year by sacrificing participatory democracy with repeated statutory violations and failure to respect the decisions of the members, when consulted. I take note with regret ».
