The Director of the Provincial People’s Congress Standing Committee, Huang Chuping, recently attended the launch ceremony of the “Green and Beautiful Guangdong·People’s Congress Delegates in Action” themed event. The event also included a tree planting activity called “Provincial and Municipal Co-construction of the People’s Congress Delegate Forest”.

The ceremony took place in Shaoguan on March 14, where Huang Chuping delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of ecological conservation and the role of People’s Congress delegates in promoting green initiatives. Similar tree planting activities were also launched in Meizhou and Yunfu to encourage representatives at all levels to take the lead in afforestation.

Huang Chuping highlighted the need for delegates to act as advocates for green initiatives and to lead by example in planting trees and promoting a culture of environmental conservation. He stressed the importance of greening every inch of land and involving the community in tree planting efforts to create a more sustainable and beautiful Guangdong.

The theme activities, now in their seventh year, aim to combine ecological construction with promoting practical projects for the benefit of the environment. Delegates are encouraged to identify key issues affecting the environment and propose solutions to address them.

During the ceremony, Huang Chuping and other city leaders planted native broad-leaved tree species at the tree planting site in Qujiang District, symbolizing their commitment to environmental conservation. The initiative “On behalf of planting green together, everyone can share green” was also launched to encourage collective action in tree planting efforts.

Overall, the event served as a call to action for People’s Congress delegates to play an active role in promoting green initiatives and protecting the natural beauty of Guangdong. With a focus on sustainability and community involvement, the tree planting event marked the beginning of a new chapter in environmental conservation efforts in the region.
