Maná’s highly anticipated performance at Viña del Mar on Tuesday (February 27) — her fifth time at Quinta Vergara — did not disappoint. The iconic pop rock band performed all of their hits, from “Oye Mi Amor” to “De Pies a Cabeza” and “Labios Complementos,” inspiring a large chorus from the 15,000 people present.

The Mexican group was supposed to perform last year in Viña, but ultimately had to cancel due to a knee injury to lead singer Fher Olvera. At the 63rd edition of the Viña del Mar International Song Festival, Maná’s performance earned the group the Gaviota de Oro and Gaviota de Plata awards.

“I am extraordinarily well, in very good spirits, missing them very much. “We are here, we promised, we are Mexicans, we promise and we deliver,” said Olvera before receiving the first prize for the band, the Silver Seagull. He also said Maná dedicated his performance to the firefighters who have helped fight the fires that left 120 people dead and more than 15,000 homes affected earlier this month in the Chilean coastal city. “Our admiration for them.”

Shortly after receiving the Silver Seagull, the “monster”, as the Viña public is known, awarded Maná with the Golden Seagull, his highest award. Maná continued to close his set with the classics “Clavado en un bar” and “Rayando el sol”.

The Australian rock band Men at Work closed the second day of Viña del Mar. The group also won Golden and Silver Gaviotas. Performances by Maná and Men at Work followed Andrea Bocelli and Miranda’s respective sets! on Monday (February 26).

Mora and Anitta will perform on February 28; February 29 is a night dedicated to Chilean artists with Los Bunkers and Young Cister; and to close, on March 1 the Argentine artists Maria Becerra and Trueno will perform.
