This Friday, February 23, there will be a scientific, student and journalistic visit to the Zapatosa swampthe largest continental freshwater wetland in Colombiawhich is experiencing acute environmental problems.

During the visit there will be a discussion in which environmental experts and students will participate. As a team they will develop the first Karl Popper del Cesar Student Debate Model. The mayor of Chimney, Joseph David Rocha.

The meeting, organized by the Color of Colombia Foundationsummons more than 100 ninth grade pilos from seven municipalities (El Paso, Curumaní, Chiriguana, Tamalameque, The Dog of Ibirico, three corregiments of Valledupar and Chimamanch itself), participants of the national ‘U Scholarship Seedbeds’ program.

The conversation, with a view of the landscape of the swamp from the tourist dock, will have environmental experts from Corpocesar, the Cesar Popular UniversityNatura Foundation, Andean Area University Foundation, Barco Foundation, ADEL Zapatosa and Asocenagoza.

The secretaries of Education and Environment of the department, Yasmín Rocío García Meneses y Melissa Johana Gómez Fernándezrespectively, are invited to present the educational quality and environmental education bets for the 2024-2027 Development Plan.

Three teams of students will star in the first Model of Karl Popper Debate of Cesararound the proposal of a tax to fight against the pollution of the Zapatosa swamp.

The jurors will be the invited environmental experts; the mayor of Chimichagua; journalists from El Pilón and Radio Guatapurí; the delegates of the vice president of Peace and Human Rights of the Valledupar Chamber of Commerce, Jose Romero Henriquezand the group of pilos.
