Miele, gold and platinum awards in Paris to Tornareccio’s companies

Two prestigious awards fromBeekeeping ‘Luca Finocchio‘ Of Tornareccio al international competition in Paris. Two medals, one platinum and one gold, have certified the quality of Abruzzo honey at a global level Piha (Paris International Honey Awards).

‘Luca Finocchio’ once again graduates as the most awarded among the Italian companies, obtaining the Platinum award for Acacia honey and the Gold award for Millefiori Montagne d’Abruzzo honey.

In the French capital, in recent weeks, companies from 19 countries have competed, from Saudi Arabia to Turkey, from the United States to Brazil, from France to Malaysia. The event is synonymous with the high quality standards of honey produced all over the world and judges the products using the “blind” method: an evaluation without any type of reference to the packaging and the name of the company. Each product is assigned a code number to ensure traceability. Each judge carries out an organoleptic analysis of the product he evaluates. “For the second consecutive year – explains the owner Luca Finocchio – our Millefiori Montagne d’Abruzzo honey, produced in Pescocostanzo with the bear friendly brand, has obtained the gold quality award. The bear friendly brand is a recognition of which we are particularly proud as it was awarded to us by the Majella National Park, together with WWF Italy, as part of the European Life ArcProm project. It means that respect for nature, for the environment, for our bees and for the fauna of our territory can be transformed into a worldwide promotion not only of our business but also of our region, Abruzzo. The platinum medal of the Paris awards went to Acacia honey, a product that receives enthusiastic praise in every competition in which it is presented”. The Tornareccio company has just celebrated (in December 2023) its first fifty years of activity.
