During a hologram phone call, the person you are talking to can be seen as a three-dimensional image. (Symbol image) (IMAGO / Tetra Images / IMAGO / Donald Iain Smith / Blend Images)
Slovakian software company Matsuko announced the launch of a new product designed to improve three-dimensional calling at the mobile phone trade fair in Barcelona. Thanks to the innovation, in addition to the central speaker, listeners and objects can also be displayed in 3D. You will need to wear virtual reality glasses.
Hologram telephony is currently aimed at companies. Architects, engineers or designers, for example, can use them to talk together about an object they see in front of them. It will take some time before holography becomes a mass market for private customers. The Spanish telecommunications provider Telefónica expects the market launch from 2026.
