Mountaineers in difficulty recovered on the Matterhorn

by admin

Intervention by the Aosta Valley Mountain Rescue and Air Zermatt on the Jordan scale

Rescue intervention at night yesterday on the Matterhorn. Two mountaineers in difficulty on the Jordan Staircase (altitude 4,400 meters) got in touch with the Valle d’Aosta Alpine Rescue asking for support.

With an overflight in the area, the rescuers managed to locate them, but the recovery was entrusted to the Swiss colleagues of Air Zermatt authorized for the night flight.

The two mountaineers were not injured, but they had encountered technical difficulties and therefore were unable to return independently.
