The spokesperson for the Government of Paraguay, Paula Carro, spoke about the role that municipalities throughout the country will have in the “Zero Hunger” project that seeks to eliminate the problem of malnutrition in schools. Carro assured that the collaboration of the mayors allows us to broaden the perspective of this great initiative.

In a meeting with the President of the Republic, Santiago Peña, it was agreed with the Mayors of different municipalities throughout the territory that they will be responsible for ensuring school infrastructure. “The municipalities are going to have a fundamental role,” stated the representative of the Executive.

It was clarified that the project continues as planned and does not suffer modifications. In addition, FONACIDE is extinguished and the National School Food Fund (FONAE) is created

As planned, the administration and management of school lunch will continue to be the responsibility of the Ministry of Social Development (MDS) in the district of Asunción, the governorates of Central and Presidente Hayes; In the other departments it will be in charge of the governorates.
